Kind of a short post today as I have a cold, and just want to sit on the couch and watch movies on Netflix. lol! Ah tis the season. I’ll live!
Last week I had some friends over for my 2nd annual goal setting mimosa brunch. One of my friends brought up doing her wheel of life and talked about the areas she was doing well in, and areas she wanted to improve.
I had forgotten about the wheel, but it was something we used a lot back in the day when I was training to be a life coach (oh, you didn’t know that I did that?). 🙂
I decided to revisit mine to see how I’m doing:
Fun: I think I have a pretty fun life overall, but then again, my idea of fun is curling up on my couch on Friday and watching cheap entertainment on Hulu, Amazon, or Netflix (I only pay for two of those things).
I also live by the beach and mountains and LA has good weather, so getting outside to do fun and mostly frugal activities is pretty darn easy to do. Back in the day I would have gone to more concerts, theater, and movies, but I’m pretty content being a homebody these days.
Money: Thankfully I’m having fun AND doing well with money! Yay! I’ve been doing great with saving money, especially in the last couple of years, and spend a lot more consciously than I used to. And have a pretty good amount saved up. #thankful
Health: This one might have scored higher, but I’m still not eating as well as I could be, and I don’t even mean it from a being super strict standpoint. I JUST have not (yet) gotten a grip on snacking too much at work. But as far as exercise, I’m doing fairly well. Hopefully this trend will continue even though I just cancelled Classpass.
Family: My relationship is pretty good overall with my family, but I could call more often. I am going to see my mom and dad sometime in early summer. My relationship with my brother is still…well, uh, different. We are VERY different people living VERY different lives. I’ll leave it at that. The last, oh, probably 6 times I’ve been back to Detroit he knew I was home but didn’t bother seeing me. 🙁
Spirituality: You know, this could be one notch higher than it is. I fall into that classic, “spiritual not religious” category (seriously watch this video), which suits me fine. I take nuggets from all religions and refer to “God” and the “Universe” interchangeably. I’m sooooo LA. lol! But I want to get better at meditating and learning more from spiritual teachers.
Friends: I think this could be higher because although I sort of have a core group of friends, and I know I have a very large group of acquaintances, I still feel that I’m missing maybe one or two core people that would be the “through thick and thin” type. I don’t think it’s just me. I think overall we are a lot more disconnected even though we are connected. And in LA, there is a VERY HIGH flake factor.
Career: Always a work in progress!
Love: Yeah, pathetic. ha ha! I guess I have LOVE in my life, but not luuuuuurrrrrve. Someone send me a nice cute
boy man who is age-appropriate and also likes dorky, goofy girls women who are age-appropriate for him. Oh, and someone who can cook would be nice too. 🙂
You can take your own WOL assessment here. No, this was not paid for or anything by them and you don’t have to put your email down! Yay! lol!
What area of your life do you need to work on? What are you totally friggen rocking?
